Prep Time
20 mins
Ingredients
a. 300 g gavar, cut into 1 ” pieces.
b. 150 g chopped onion
c. 150 g diced boiled potato (1″ cubes).
Spices:
d. 1 tsp jeera
e. 1 tsp turmeric
f. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
g. 1 tsp dhania (coriander) powder
h. 3/4 tsp amchur powder
i. 2 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
Procedure
- Boil the cut gavar and cook till it is tender. Alternatively you may pressure cook it. Drain excess water and keep aside.
- Take a wok, add the oil and heat. When oil is hot, add the jeera. When jeera turns brown, add the onion and saute. When onion turns translucent add the potato and gavar.
- Add the red chilli, turmeric, amchur, dhania powder and salt. Stir the mixture, cover and cook on medium heat for 10 mins. If the mixture is very dry, add some water (3 tbsp).
- Turn off heat after 10 mins. Stir and see if the vegetable is cooked. Your gavar subzi is now ready to eat along with hot bread/roti.
